Bulldogs take sharp pitching to Tallahassee

Mississippi State's softball pitching of Kenley Hawk, Annie Willis and Aspen Wesley have the tools to be a shutdown staff.

They proved it against the Tennessee Lady Volunteers last week at the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

The Bulldog trio only gave up one run in 13 innings against one of the best teams in the country.

That performance encouraged MSU head coach Samantha Ricketts as her team got ready to participate in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional this weekend.

“All three of them did such a great job of embracing their roles,” Ricketts said about the pitching. “One thing our pitching staff has done well all year long is they have embraced the idea of staff. They set each other up for success. Aspen came out and gave us a quality start, getting one time through the lineup, leading us to Kenley, another five innings there, and then being able to close out Annie with her strong four
